Grace Kelly was born in Philadelphia. She
starred in several significant films in the early to
mid-1950s, such as Rear
Window and High
Noon. She won the best actress
Oscar for her performance in The
Country Girl (1954).
She became Princess Grace of
Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III on April 18, 1956. She
is Exhibit A of the adage that it's easier for an American
girl to grow
up to become a princess (depends on the definition, but at least
11) than to become a Supreme Court Justice. (6)
