Clara Barton
1821-1912
Clara Barton was working as a clerk in the patent
office in Washington DC, when the Civil War arrived and dumped a
fuckton of
wounded soldiers on her doorstep. She volunteered as a nurse in a
military hospital, and eventually founded the American Red
Cross.
