Vibia
Sabina
83-136 AD
Vibia Sabina was the wife of the Roman emperor Hadrian, but he
preferred male lovers, so he and Sabina had no children. It's been said that Hadrian treated his wife
little better than a slave, and may have driven her to suicide. The emperor's
(male) secretary, Suetonius, developed an inappropriate relationship
with Sabina and was fired.
