Ride

Sally Ride was born
in Los Angeles, and earned a PhD from Stanford University. She joined
NASA in 1978 and
became the first
American woman to fly in space,
with two missions on the Space Shuttle Challenger in
1983 and 1984.
How lesbian was she? Quietly bisexual, with several relationships over
the years, back and forth between both sexes. She was married to a man for
a few years, and ended in a domestic partnership with a woman. The general public didn't learn this
until her obituary mentioned the partner.
