Ruth Bader Ginsburg

1933-2020

RBG was the second woman to sit on the Supreme Court of the US. Over the course of a long and distiguished legal career, she steadfastly elevated the legal rights of American women.

Then she ruined it by not quitting while she was ahead. She was in her eighties and had barely survived several bouts of cancer, so her days were numbered. Retiring while Obama was president would have solidified her accomplishments. Obama and RBG agreed on everything that mattered. He would have replaced her with a like-minded justice. But then she tried to squeeze in another four years, which didn't work, so Trump got to replace her with someone who undid everything she had worked for.
