Rosalind
Franklin
1920-1958
Rosalind Franklin was a British chemist and X-ray
crystallographer whose work was central to the understanding of the
molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite.
One day, when she was away from her lab, her boss showed all her
research to Watson and Crick without telling her. They used it to
unlock the structure of DNA, for which they were awarded the 1962 Nobel
Prize and she wasn't.
In the meantime, Franklin had come down with
cancer and died.
