Betty
Robinson
1911-1999
The fastest woman in the world.
Her high school science teacher spotted
her running to catch the train after school. He was a former athlete and
the coach of the school team, and he was impressed.
She set records at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
In 1931 she was horribly injured in a plane crash, and it took two years of hard work to get back into running.
